Summer Scholars
Sumner County Schools is excited to announce Summer Scholars 2026, a four-week academic program designed to strengthen student foundations and prepare learners for the year ahead. Running from June 1 through June 25, 2026, this program provides high-quality, targeted instruction for currently enrolled, PreK through eighth (8) grade students.
Program Theme: S.T.R.I.V.E.
Summer Scholars is built around the S.T.R.I.V.E. framework — a balanced approach that supports academic growth, creativity, and wellness.
STEM - Hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math activities that encourage problem-solving, curiosity, and innovation.
Targeted Intervention - Small-group instruction focused on strengthening individual skill gaps and reinforcing key academic concepts.
Reading and Literacy - Daily reading, writing, and language activities to build comprehension, vocabulary, and a love of reading.
Integrated Math - Real-world math applications that promote critical thinking and confidence with numbers.
Visual Arts - Creative projects that encourage self-expression, imagination, and artistic exploration.
Exercise - Structured physical activity to support healthy habits, teamwork, and overall wellness.
Program Highlights:

- Days: Monday - Thursday
- Time: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Services: Transportation and meals are provided at no cost to participating families
- Curriculum: Targeted, small-group sessions led by expert educators
