Negative Meal Balances
- Negative balances will carry forward from the previous school year.
- À la carte snack purchases will not be allowed until the meal account balance is current.

- Sumner County Schools District Code: 8509
- A new application must be completed each school year if using household income.
- Prior meal eligibility expires on September 15, 2026.
- Complete a meal application to be considered for fee waivers.

Meal prices and eligibility guidelines apply to the 2026–2027 school year and may be subject to change.

Does Your Child Need a Meal Modification?
School Nutrition works with families and medical professionals to provide qualifying meal accommodations.
Request a Meal Modification
Students with a disability or qualifying medical condition may be eligible for a meal modification through the School Nutrition Program.
The completed form must be signed by a physician (or other state-recognized medical authority) and returned to the cafeteria manager
The form should clearly identify the medical condition and the required food substitutions or modifications.
Completed documentation should be returned to the appropriate school or School Nutrition representative.
Please note: Meal modifications are provided for qualifying disabilities and medical conditions. Personal preferences and general dietary choices may not qualify for an accommodation.

In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA (not all bases apply to all programs).
