Classroom Support
The Director of Classroom and Behavior Support provides district-wide leadership in fostering positive, effective learning environments for all students. This role supports teachers, school leaders, and support staff by implementing research-based strategies that enhance classroom instruction, student engagement, and behavioral success.
Classroom Support
This role is often focused on improving instructional effectiveness and classroom management.
- Support for Teachers: Provides coaching, resources, and professional development to teachers on effective classroom management, differentiated instruction, and engagement strategies.
- Instructional Leadership: Collaborates with school leaders to support instructional best practices that foster student achievement.
- Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS): Helps implement Tier 1 (universal), Tier 2, and Tier 3 classroom supports for academic and behavioral needs.
- Equity and Access: Ensures all classrooms are inclusive and supportive of diverse learners, including English learners and students with disabilities.
- Data-Driven Practices: Analyzes student performance and behavior data to inform classroom strategies and interventions.
Behavior Support
This role is more directly focused on student behavior, social-emotional learning (SEL), and discipline systems.
- Behavior Intervention Planning: Leads the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with challenging behaviors.
- PBIS Implementation: Oversees the district-wide rollout and maintenance of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) frameworks.
- Crisis and De-escalation Support: Trains staff in de-escalation techniques, trauma-informed practices, and crisis response strategies.
- Discipline Policy Oversight: Collaborates with school administrators to ensure consistent and equitable discipline practices aligned with state laws and district policies.
- Support for Tiered Behavior Services: Works with mental health staff, school counselors, and psychologists to deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavioral supports.
