The Office of Internal Audit is responsible for assuring schools follow requirements, regulations, policies and laws that pertain to activity funds. In addition, the office may be requested to review other activities within a school or department for proper procedures. The office reports to the Director of Schools as a part of the administrative staff, and it is supervised by Lisa Sweeney.
School activity funds generate more than 6 million dollars each year. At the end of each fiscal year, an outside auditing firm reviews the activities of each school fund, and a report of any findings is publicly provided to the Director of Schools and the Board of Education.
